November 10th
Between Fences Smithsonian Exhibit 7:00 PM
American West Heritage Center
7:00 p.m., then ongoing through December 20. Between Fences
is an exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition
Service’s Museums on Main Street Project. Do good fences make good
neighbors? We live between fences. We may hardly notice them, but
they are dominant features in our lives and in our history. Built
of hedge, concrete, wood and metal, the fence skirts our properties
and is central to the American landscape. Metaphorically, we surround
ourselves with fences, we take them down, or we can mend them. Be
here for this engaging exhibit as it opens at the American West
Heritage Center. Artifacts from the Between Fences Art,
Music, and Poetry Competition will also be displayed (contact us
for more information about any of our contests). Contest winners
will be presenting their winning products. There will be plenty
of activities on this evening for history enthusiasts of all ages!
Refreshments will be served!
